Friends of Egerton (PTA)

HELLO!    Whether you are a new joiner or an existing parent, we would like to tell you a little bit about the Friends, in the hope you’ll consider joining us.

WHO CAN BE A FRIEND?

Every parent and carer at Egerton School.

Our aim is to bring the pupils, staff, families and the wider community together to enhance our children’s time at the school. We organise and host a wide variety of events throughout the year, like the Bluebell Run, Christmas Fairs, quizzes, colour run, and fun events for the kids. We also raise much needed funds for the school.  It is a great way to meet people, feel part of the school community and make a real difference.

WHAT IS THE MONEY SPENT ON?

Since November 2017, the Friends have been able to donate in excess of £30k to support the school and its activities. To give you a flavour of the sums involved:

Forest School

£2,140

Science workshops

£1,300

School trips (travel)

£7,000

Reading books

£4,138

Panto  (travel)

£6,200

HOW MUCH DO WE NEED TO RAISE?

Sadly, all school budgets are incredibly stretched, so our support is more important than ever.

As well as raising funds for the annual trips/events we support, we also have an additional long-term goal we are working towards.  We would like to raise a further £70,000 to enable us to enhance the school playground equipment.  We are well aware that this is a large amount of money (unfortunately, the cost of equipment/installation is very high), but we hope that, with your support, it can be achieved.
